Manners, Meals, and Social Graces at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas
Children and Teenagers Learn Proper Etiquette to Prepare for the Holiday Season
August 2008 DALLAS – Designed to teach the principles of excellence and respect at an early age, "Manners, Meals, and Social Graces" at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas will build social awareness among young ladies and gentlemen in time for the approaching holiday season during etiquette classes held on Nov. 2 and 9. The objective of these fun and interactive classes conducted by Melina Kelley, trained and certified protocol advisor, is to enhance the social skills of young ladies and gentlemen, encouraging the genteel arts of poise, confidence and grace in social situations. Intimate groups of approximately twelve children or teenagers will gather in the hotel's private dining room, seated at round tables to facilitate a friendly and conversational atmosphere. Preparation for the holidays involves more than just the decorations and baking. Making sure children understand proper etiquette when attending a party, joining a family gathering, receiving a gift, and dining is a priority when approaching the holiday season. "Briefing the children prior to these engagements can eliminate a lot of anxiety for both the parents and the children and ensure an enjoyable time is had by all," states Melina Kelley. "Understanding the principles of excellence and respect foster an appreciation of cultural and social etiquette." These principles combined with the standards, philosophy, and innovations of service that the history of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is built upon create an exclusive experience for our younger guests. Training seminars will be offered on Nov. 2 and 9 for different age groups and will encompass the topics below.
